Lanc Senior Games Art Grimm 600The Lancaster Senior Games is celebrating its 29th anniversary in 2017. Since its founding in 1989, thousands of athletes have participated in the games, and hundreds are expected to compete this year.

The games’ 2017 honorary chairperson is Art Grimm, whose lifelong involvement in sports includes positions as head wrestling coach at Manheim Central School District; head football coach and physical education department chair at Conestoga Valley High School; and athletic director at Conestoga Valley School District.

Grimm’s career highlights included the Arnold Fink Award for outstanding physical education educator and the Robert Rill Award of Public Service at CVHS (2015). He was also inducted into the District 3 Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1980 and the Conestoga Valley High School Hall of Fame in 1999.

During the Lancaster Senior Games, county residents 55 and older are eligible to compete in an unlimited number of events. Here is the full list of events held during Senior Games week:
